Are You Operating From the Present Moment?

We are nearing the end of January when the season of New Year’s resolutions is approaching that point in time where they will either succeed or be handily forgotten.  Next year we’ll wonder why we ever let go of that dream or goal or why it was so difficult to pursue.  Have you noticed that other people seem to have a kind of magic underfoot manifesting what ever they set their mind on?   It can be frustrating if it doesn’t happen for us.

The answer is something I have contemplated on many times in my Repatterning practice and I conclude has to do with being a master of the present moment.   When we are present moment oriented we have significant energy to focus and accomplish a range of goals and intentions from a daily list of “To do’s” to a big vision.  We  handle delays and obstacles as opportunities and confidently create life the way we want it to be.   However, when we are loaded down with unconscious patterns of inner conflict, discordant family patterns, negative beliefs or energy constrictions from past events that have never cleared, our energy is significantly tied up in these patterns.  We have very little power left to focus on what we want in this life.  Instead we become reactive, and subjected to robotic actions that have very little if anything to do with the present.

Perhaps we view an employer with the same disdain we may have had for a father figure or parents.  We feel overlooked by peers because we were always overlooked by siblings etc.   We react to the people or situations in the present as if they were those same people from an earlier time in our lives.   An inner force is trying to get us to ‘see’ the pattern and let it go.  It may show up as issues with money, relationships, time, health or more.

Our ability to clear these problems is also tied to our heart chakra qualities of being able to love and forgive unconditionally and with compassion for our self  and others.  The more unconditional our loving and forgiving – that is no strings attached, the more we move into patterns of hope and optimism and our ability to self heal.   Then as we heal and release patterns we master our present moment experience.

Our present moment awareness can be situational that is we are more present in some situations than others.  Perhaps we are generally in the ball park of being in the present moment and only get derailed when confronted with specific issues.  Or we are entrenched in an overall pattern with varying degrees of awareness.  If you haven’t taken your pulse for present moment awareness I invite you to check yourself on my handy map.

Look at the quadrant on the map and now ask yourself if you have sufficient present moment awareness to manifest your New Year’s resolution, project or goal.
