Happy Canada Day!

Appreciate 3 great things about your country.  Here are mine:

Diversity -The macrocosm of the world is in the microcosm of Canada particularly Toronto.  The people, communities, celebrations and our rich diversity often leave me feeling like I have travelled the world without leaving my street.

- Caring People – I hope this isn’t a uniquely Canadian quality, but I do get the sense that we are a nation of caring people when I see stories like the one last week of a bullied grandmother.  In response a twenty-five year old Toronto man went to a crowd funding source to raise money to send her on a decent vacation.  Instead, one half million dollars has been raised to date.  Read the full story at the National Post newspaper  .

Our National Anthem – I love that we have a French version, an Inuit version and especially a bilingual version that let’s you just fal la la la along the parts you don’t know.  Everyone is to feel included.   The words are easy to remember (so I heard on the radio- apparently they seemed to have said so at the British Olympic committee).  Looking at the frequency of the words for the first time and what jumps out at me is the word LOVE in the first stanza.  Love is the highest frequency on planet. It melts negativity.  It bonds us.  Maybe the inclusion of that word is why I always have a hard time not crying when I hear the anthem.   I am crying for the joy of our connection.   Read about our anthem  at  Wikpedia.org http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_national_anthem.

…Or sing along for a chorus or two at YouTube.com with this one minute rock version I found
