A year or two ago, I found myself quite taken by an online article title “Where Does Our Consciousness Go When We DIe?” The answer is… another planet according to Dr. Robert Lanza. His theory and what looks like a new field of scientific inquiry, is called Biocentrism. Lanza theorizes that the world as we know it exists only because of our awareness and where we place our attention. We expect to see a blue sky and we see a blue sky. Others may see only cloud cover. In this theory the world as we know it starts in our head. It is not unlike the basic principles of Resonance Repatterning, where identifying our unconscious patterns, negative beliefs, etc and clearing them creates a new awareness and experience in our lives.
Lanza’s theory of biocentrism is as upending to our perception of how things are as the declaration that the world is not flat nor that the sun does not revolve around earth. What we experience as matter, the physical stuff of our day to day reality is in fact the product of our minds according to Lanza.
If this idea sounds too lofty to comprehend you are not alone, however, CBC radio (Canadian Broadcasting Corp) IDEAS – Host Paul Kennedy interviews Lanza and explores these ideas in a user-friendly hour that will keep you thinking about thinking. Of course in the comments section you will see a huge range of arguments that are both for and against his ideas. Visit CBC’s IDEAS to listen in.
My thanks to Karen Gordon for letting me know about this fascinating interview!
