5 patterns that extinguish our inner light and how to transform them

How bright is your inner light shining?  How energized are you?    Energetically, these two states of being are connected.  We all want more energy but few people realize how their energy is drained through consistent engagement in one or more mind traps of negative thoughts or feelings.   Certainly the day to day frustrations of dealing with difficult environments, people or situations can tax even the most conscious and positive person.   I always laugh to think of a remark made by an author I admire, Caroline Myss on the topic of forgiveness and how even she mentioned a bell hop in Moscow who at the time was not forgiven and may never be – an example of how we all have our forgiveness issues.

Any of the following life depleting thoughts or feeling states can drain our energy slowly and imperceptibly so that before we realize it we living a pattern of being in a state of constant exhaustion.  We are confused as to why and think a vitamin or a new supplement will help.  Our inner light is extinguished because negativity contracts or shrinks our field of light and energy.  Before heading to the health food store,  check out these 5 patterns from Chloe Wordsworth’s Inner Light Repatterning that may be robbing you of your energy.

Frustration – ask yourself what situation, or person including yourself is frustrating you or making you angry?  How long has this been going on?

Competitiveness – Who are you competing with? Who makes you feel inadequate?  Are you always fighting to get what you want.

Fear – How do you not feel supported by life or someone in particular?

Jealousy – Finish this phrase with attitude… ” I will never have (what you want)”

Unfriendliness –  Do  you harshly judge, criticize or have negative thoughts about others? Are you always zooming in on another’s weak points?  Do others often ask why you are frowning?

Sometimes just naming the pattern that extinguishes our light can clear a pattern.  It’s not that we want to replace stressful situations with unjustified positivity, we just don’t want our energy to dwell on things that are negative.  If we think the best of a situation or person we bring more inner light, more understanding and more options.  We expect and receive better outcomes.

How to Transform the Present Stressful situation – If  you are experiencing any of the patterns above routinely, ask yourself what it is that  you need that has not yet been expressed?   Who do you need to speak to?  What resources do you need to do this?

– Remind yourself of your gifts and capabilities
– Get in touch with the energizing feeling you most need (i.e. being cared for)
– What action do you need to take? Can you take it now?
– If talking to the parties in question is difficult, imagine a conversation where you do this and the responses you would like to hear back.
– Forgive those involved
– Send positive thoughts or appreciation to the person(s) or situation.

If it is a long standing pattern of negative thoughts, remember repatterning can help clear the patterns behind it all.

Notice your energy level and how others are responding to you once you take some of the steps above. Most of all be aware of  the increased light you now radiate to yourself and others.

With light and love

PS – After writing this post I read the following eulogy letter reported in our local Toronto Star paper from the parents of a foreign student who was brutally murdered.  They have ever reason to have all of the light extinguishing patterns listed above but read this letter and receive the depth and profound love shining through this  letter.  I was very moved with the inner light these parents radiate.  At the Toronto Star:   http://www.thestar.com/news/crime/article/981473–wake-up-my-child-mom-and-dad-are-bringing-you-home
