On a summer’s walk in my neighborhood High Park Parents looking out for their young and protecting them from harm’s way is evident from mom’s with strollers to geese crossing the road with goslings. We count on our need for protection to be given lovingly by our parents. When filled at our most vulnerable times as children we learn to protect ourselves as adults and to offer that same quality to the next generation and others in need. Summer is a great time to replenish our reservoir for protection. Wear sunscreen, wear protective gear for the job you are doing, moderate work and play, take time away, drive safe, take calculated risks but make sure you are safe, fix up hazards in your home or work environment – with every choice we make to keep ourselves safe and protected we expand our reserves of energy year round.
