Outside my window the weather is gloomy. All the promise of a white winter wonderland turned to freezing rain. Everything looks brown or grey. Daylight hours are getting shorter as we quickly approach the winter solstice with equal hours of day and night. We are in the transitional period of the energy cycle – Earth element. A time to snuggle up in doors, maintain homekeeping routines, a time to make a pot of nourishing soup.
Earth element governs transitions from the turn of day to night, home to work, work to home, into a project, completion of project, from season to season. If we take care of our Earth element needs for predictability and routines we can manage the unsettledness of transitions with ease. Try not to rush so much. Put things in order. Tidy up the house. Do your laundry. Make a proper dinner with 2 vegetables. Read a favorite old book or movie and get to bed at a decent hour. As the light of autumn dwindles, you will feel grounded, calm, self-assured and ready to move into the light of the next season – Winter.
Work with the energy of the seasons and the elements to feel more fully yourself. Repattern your challenges and wishes by participating in the Repatterning for the Winter Solstice. Name any challenges you may have for the season, or the holidays (it’s always good to name what is bothering us) and add in some intentions for what you would like instead. Make an intention for your community and the world. You will be joining a hologram of energy of like-minded souls where our interconnection and emerging awareness facilitates a joyful shift.
