Moving on is another variation of the Metal Element quality of letting go. I was reflecting on how the need to move on in business is often overshadowed by the habit of “but we always do it this way” or business as usual. We are creatures of habit, and routine and business as usual gives us a sense of basic security. But it if not monitored on some regular basis, it can become a false sense of security. We may lose money or business if we don’t revisit what we are doing on a regular basis and be prepared to let go if our investment time, money and energy does not meet our goals.
When we refuse to look at places in our business where it is now best to ‘move on’, such as leaving a project behind or stopping something we’ve always done like printing and mailing a newsletter, our metal element energy slows down. The things that we keep without renewing their usefulness or purpose, take up space energetically blocking new things from being able to arrive. Over time, incoming business may then be insufficient to feed the company (Earth element energy), our reserves of metal element energy dwindle (money) and we have less to nourish the flow of water element energy where we are on alert for understanding, perception and sales. Refusing to move on carries a price for the energy of our Wood Element goals and plans as we now cannot act on opportunity because of our attachment to other things.
Use ‘Moving On’ to Build Your Metal Element Energy: To build your energetic quality for ‘moving on’ and a reserve of Metal Element energy, take some time to review your goals and plans, acknowledge what you have accomplished and review what is not working. Air out your regrets and just name them. Then let them go. Ask yourself… what else am I clinging to at work because I am attached to it versus any useful purpose? What would happen if I let it go and moved on?
With light and love
