If you believe that procrastination is one of your biggest time issues, you may want to look at the patterns or qualities of your decision-making as the underlying source. When we are uncertain about a decision, big or small, we can stay in a place of avoidance to get around having to make what may turn out to be the wrong decision. We might actually go to great lengths to avoid that time where a decision is inevitable. Why do we do this? So that the default results can take the rap for any wrong choices we might have made. “I would have done it differently but wasn’t there to decide. Someone chose for me.”
To stop procrastinating it is helpful to begin with a positive intention for your decision-making. Here is an example from the Decision Making Repatterning – “I reconsider my decisions, when necessary , so I continually evolve to the next phase of my growth.” (This is one of many I use in the Time On MY Side Series)
Next. think about what exactly is the decision you need to make? Sometimes we avoid decisions because of a lack of clarity for the decision required in the first place. To answer this question could really remove a great deal of anxiety.
To make decisions fearlessly may involve some practice. This process is facilitated by clearing out the frequencies related to them. These are beliefs you may have attained from your family, from your work or industry, or some life event where decisions went wrong and energetically, you never recovered. You can feel these non-coherent patterns throughout your body. They often show up as back pain, or mysterious aches and pains that won’t go away. Procrastination patterns are often linked to negative feelings and unconscious beliefs you may have long blocked out of your awareness to avoid the pain of it all. At the time it seemed brilliant just to procrastinate ,but at some point, healing the patterns will tip the balance as you get more energy, more relief, more confidence and inner calm by resolving it.
In the Decision Making Repatterning, a part of the resonance repatterning system, setting your overall purpose or vision in relation to a decision that needs to be made, can help you bring objectivity and diffuse the negative emotions related to making a decision. If you then resonate with your overall vision, you can make decisions in the moment with ease and grace.
Thoughts? How is your decision making ability linked to procrastination?
