What are the unresolved patterns in your family tree? How deep are the walls that keep the patterns hidden and out of reach for healing? In the “Healing the Family System” set of repatternings developed by Magui Block we explore the patterns rooted in our family ancestral energy. These are patterns that can be particularily hidden from our view and therefore difficult to clear if you don’t have a model for transformation.
Based on the teachings of Family Constellation founder Bert Hellinger, these repatternings give us the opportunity to explore, identify and clear energetic patterns we inherited from unresolved energy patterns of the past. The theory goes like this… while we each have a signature energy field that comprises our essence and being, we are also linked (yes whether we like it or not) to our family or ancestral energy as the wave extends way way back! Fields of energy have their own intelligence, rules for operating or defining what comprises the field. This can translate as qualities, values, mannerisms etc. The fields of energy are like the air we breathe. We can’t restrict ourselves to what we want or don’t want. We can’t say “I won’t breathe this air over here.” as we may die or inhibit our health. We have to accept the energy we have and do our best with it.
Where inherited problems begin… – Non-coherent patterns emerge when members of the system create imbalances such as excluding family members (no doubt for valid reasons but…) , taking a wrongful place in the ancestral hierarchy (such as children parenting their parents,), put their burdens unfairly on others in the system, a cycle of violence is invoked, or imbalanced loyalties are established to name a few. For family members in the present, these patterns can be very frustrating as we think we know better, we try our best to be more balanced yet weird problems become a regular occurrence It can seem illogical that some of our patterns can be related to something that goes back many generations to people we have never known.
Here is one small example of how non-coherent patterns can show up in your ancestral energy. Five generations back in a family of 3, the youngest a man at age 18 years steals something. Bad enough but the very stern head of the family feels so disgraced in their community that he disowns the son, is banished from the house and the community and no one is allowed to speak of him again. This amounts to ‘excluding’ a family member. The system now in imbalance, and emerges for resolution in future generations where every time there is a 3rd male child, a similar fate occurs until members of the system accept the deeds of the perpetrating members, forgive them (not condone bad behavior) and they remain a part of the family in some way. Their exisitence is acknowledged. Once this happens the family energy is re-calibrated.
